Temple Carrig School

2016 to 2021

Growing Up

The inspiration for this was local woodlands of Birch and Beech and how light filters through to the forest floor.

This installation stands 10m high (3m wide) in the Temple Carraig School’s central core in Greystones and was made possible by the Percent for Arts scheme for Public Buildings.

This artwork is composed of sculpted clay and handpainted mosaic tiles and is integrated into the architecture. The final touches to the area were completed in 2021.

This work was featured in the Dec 2017-Mar 2018 Edition of the Irish Arts Review. (See Irish Arts Review post under Publications.)

The study painting (on view in the gallery below) for this sculpture is also on view at the school and prints may be purchased by contacting me at laura@lauraohagan.com.
